City Hall Gallery Features Work of East View Art Students

From now until March, artwork of East View High School (EVHS) students will be featured in the Georgetown City Hall Gallery. The exhibition, titled “Hope for the Environment”, is composed of student pieces that portray the artists’ thoughts and feelings around environmental topics.

“I asked my students what they wanted their community to know about the impact of humans on the environment and to communicate that using art,” Jessica Sobhani, East View art teacher said. “The pieces are meant to inspire hope and change.”

Students in Sobhani’s class had the option to participate in the project. The following students have work in the exhibition:

Lurleen Orozco Rodriguez
Jazelle Tatum
Savanna DeHart
Jianna Sobhani
Emily Byrne
Mary Buckley
Samuel Salas
Jordan Erkie
Alyssa Andana
Saba Saleem

A reception for the exhibition will be held on February 21st at 5:30 pm.
