Georgetown ISD Announces New Director for Special Education

The Georgetown Independent School District announced Sheri Ogden as the new Director for Special Education at the May board meeting.

Sheri is returning to Georgetown ISD following a short time in Belton ISD where she has been serving as Director of Special Programs.  Prior to that, Sheri served in Georgetown ISD as the Special Education and 504 Coordinator for four years. During her more than 30-year career,  Sheri has served as special education director, coordinator and teacher with a passion for ensuring that every student receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically and socially.

Ogden holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Widener University, a master’s degree in educational psychology from the University of Houston and certificates in the following areas: special education EC-12, elementary education 1-8, English as a second language, principals certification PK-12 and elementary education #C-6.

Ogden is actively involved in the Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education and advocates for students with disabilities at local, regional, and state levels. She replaces outgoing special education director Dana Johnson, who announced her retirement earlier this spring. Ogden will officially assume her new role this summer.
