Georgetown ISD celebrates Manufacturing Day on October 4

On October 4, Georgetown ISD partnered with the Workforce Development Alliance of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and the City of Georgetown to host Manufacturing Day 2022 for Career and Technical Education students in Georgetown ISD. Manufacturing Day is a celebration of modern manufacturing and highlights manufacturers in Georgetown. Georgetown has a relatively high concentration of manufacturing employment, representing nearly 11 percent of jobs in the city.

Manufacturers that participated in the 2022 Manufacturing Day include AirBorn, Chatsworth Products, Schunk Xycarb Technology, TASUS Texas, TECO Westinghouse, and R & D Molders. Nearly 100 students representing East View High School, Georgetown High School, and Richarte High School had the opportunity to visit multiple manufacturers, listen to presentations, and receive a hands-on learning experience while being led on tours throughout the manufacturing  facilities.
