Georgetown ISD Wins Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards at TSPRA Conference

Georgetown ISD’s Communications Department has been recognized with five Gold Star Awards, five Silver Star Awards and one Bronze Star Award, presented by the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA). The winners were announced at TSPRA’s 63rd annual conference last week in San Antonio.

Each year, TSPRA recognizes communicators in school districts, education foundations, education associations and organizations for their work in print and electronic media categories. This year, a record setting 1,940 entries were received from school PR teams across Texas.

Georgetown ISD received Gold for the district calendar, two video entries (“GTK GISD” installments), one writing entry (“Practice Makes Perfect”) and one social media marketing campaign (“Inside GISD”); Silver for one writing entry (“GISD Launches Grow Your Own Program”) and 3 photos; and Bronze for the district calendar in Spanish.

“Our team is committed to timely and transparent communication to our district stakeholders,” said Melinda Brasher, Executive Director, Communication and Community Engagement. “While winning awards is not the focus of our work, it’s an incredible honor to be recognized by our peers in this way.”
