Georgetown’s Jonathan Colburn Elected as TASC State Advisor At Large
The Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC) has named Georgetown High School (GHS) Educator, Dr. Jonathan Colburn, Board Advisor at Large. In this role, Colburn will serve a three-year term on the TASC Board alongside four state officer schools, two elected high school advisors, and two middle school advisors.
As Advisor at Large, Colburn will serve as Chair of various committees, support the Board in making decisions, serve on the State Steering Committee, provide oversight of TASC operations, and help direct various TASC activities throughout the year.
“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to support student leaders from all across the state in this way,” Colburn said. “My four years in Student Council have provided me with opportunities to train and serve alongside some talented student leaders, and I am thrilled to have the chance to make an investment in student leaders from all over Texas.”
GHS Student Council, led by Colburn, recently won TASC State Awards in the categories of Pride & Patriotism, Energy & Environment, Drugs, Alcohol, Safety & Health (D.A.S.H.) and Community Service, earning overall Sweepstakes and being recognized as an Outstanding Student Council.
“I love the opportunity to serve our students, our campus, and our community, and I am so grateful every day to be an Eagle,” Colburn said.
