GISD Announces Two New Principals, Director of Operations
The Georgetown Independent School District announced three new hires at a special board meeting on June 10, 2022. Jessica Marek has been named Williams Elementary School Principal, Stephanie House has been named GAP (Georgetown Alternative Program) Principal, and Stacie Seveska has been named Director of Operations/Title IX.
Jessica Marek currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Wolf Ranch Elementary School in GISD. Marek enters this new role with 14 years of public school education experience, eight of which have been spent in GISD as a teacher, department chair, campus design team lead, and summer school principal. Marek also assisted in the opening of Wolf Ranch Elementary School in 2020.
She has a Master of Education from Capella University and a Bachelor of Arts in Health Education from Texas A&M University. Marek has been married to husband Dale for 10 years, and together they have four children – 26-year-old Colten, 23-year-old Cheyenne, 7-year-old Sydney and 18-month-old Luke.
In her new role, Marek will ensure that actions and behaviors align with the mission of GISD including fostering a culture aligned to the district’s Strategic Framework and leading the development and design of engaging work for students.
She will begin her new role on July 13.
Stephanie House comes to Georgetown ISD with 17 years of experience as an educator in a wide variety of school settings including serving as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal and director for a program that specializes in serving at-risk youth.
She has a Master of Education in educational administration from Concordia University Texas, a Bachelor of Science in clinical psychology from the University of Michigan and an Ed.S in K-12 Instructional Leadership from Grand Canyon University. House lives in Liberty Hill where her fourth-grade son Mason attends school.
House has experience in a wide-variety of school settings and an in-depth knowledge of special and behavioral education, having worked with students who are at-risk and/or involved with the juvenile justice system. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading the campus culture, aligning processes to the district’s Strategic Framework and leading the development and design of work that is both engaging and rehabilitative for students.
House will begin her new role on July 13.
Stacie Seveska has 22 years of education experience serving as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, director of student services, and most recently as a middle school principal in Belton ISD.
She holds a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from East Texas Baptist University. Stacie and her husband Lance have three children who attend Wolf Ranch Elementary School.
In her new role, Stacie will be responsible for coordinating district operations such as school safety, student attendance, student transfers, discipline hearings and reviews. She will lead, support and ensure that the action and behaviors support the mission of GISD and advance systems and processes toward the GISD vision, including promoting the value of collaborative planning, district initiatives, and responsive programs and services.
Seveska will begin her new role on July 1.
