GISD Students Competed at Texas Thespians Festival, Seven Earned National Qualifier Status

Each year, Texas Thespians, an educational honor society dedicated to encouraging and improving the skills of theatre students and their educators, hosts two state-wide festivals in Grapevine, TX and San Antonio, TX. The Texas Thespians Festival gives students and directors an opportunity to celebrate an entire weekend of theatre.

This year, more than 100 students from both Georgetown High School (GHS) and East View High School (EVHS) participated in the festival, and seven students walked away earning national qualifier status.

From GHS:
Holden Pargmann & Emma Hoover - Duet Acting
Kamrin Gordon - Solo Musical
Natalie Gillen & Glenn Schmidt - Duet Musical
Grant Pargmann - Costume Design

From EVHS:
Abigail Bruton - Solo Musical

EVHS theatre performed their play Ride the Cyclone and won Best Performer, Best Cameo, Best Hair and Makeup and Best Sound Design. GHS Theatre performed Macbeth and won Best Ensemble, Best Costuming, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Stage Management, and Best Overall Tech Crew.
