Message From Dr. Padavil:
We remain very grateful to the community of Georgetown for their support of the 2024 Bond. As these projects begin, it is not lost on us that the community’s support helps us accommodate the growth that will continue into our future. If you are wondering what the timeline for these projects will look like over the next few years, you can see our plan here. We share regular progress updates with the board and on our website. I invite you to follow along.
We celebrated the grand opening of the Bridges Boutique at the Future Ready Complex. Bridges is a program that supports our students with disabilities who are over the age of 18. Through the offerings supported by our staff, students can run a store and learn skills that will benefit them as they transition to life beyond school. They are also honing their skills in the community through various volunteer and work opportunities. We are very grateful to our teachers and staff for how much they pour into our Bridges students. The new facility supports expanded hours for the Boutique, which you’ll find on their Facebook page along with a look at some of the Boutique offerings. Stop by and see this incredible program in action.
Recently, I started a new listening tour to visit with our educators at each school and in different departments. The feedback from these “rounding visits” help us become a stronger school district for our students and staff. I’d like to share just a few notes of praise from our educators for some rockstar teammates.
Nicolette Pirkle (Wolf Ranch) for her hard work, positive attitude, and dedication to kids.
Jake Schwab (Tippit) for his leadership and strong instructional background. He has been a lifesaver to other teachers!
Danielle Vogel (Wolf Ranch) for her classroom management, student engagement, and inspiring academic standards.
Amanda Reyes (Tippit) for her leadership in athletics and going above and beyond in everything she does for others.
Shelby Blaydes (Tippit) for giving 110% and always showcasing innovative and creative projects.
Coach Sarnoski (Wolf Ranch) for coordinating the effort for Alex’s Lemonade Stand!
Amber Cervantes (Wolf Ranch) for her support of staff in many ways.
Jennifer Guidry (Tippit) for being a phenomenal leader by taking care of her people.
Maria Trevino (Wolf Ranch) for quietly managing the logistics of the school to run a smooth ship!
Margaret Jones (Wolf Ranch) for sharing instructional knowledge and being a resource to others.
Madeline Carmody (Tippit) for taking the TMS choir to the next level.
We have a four-day week coming up followed by a five-day student break October 11-15. We have officially made it ¼ through the school year, and this is a moment to measure our progress and take our students to the next level. We are thankful for your partnership in every child’s learning.
