1. Principal Appreciation Month Spotlights: Alfonso Longoria & Dr. Emily Fraser (October)

2. G-ISD My Ride: A Program with a Flourishing Future (August)

In the fall of 2019, Dr. Jennifer Wills, counselor at Georgetown High School (GHS), applied for a grant to kickstart G My Ride, a program that would combine the work of Automotive Technology students, A/V (Audio and Visual) students, and many more to give one lucky student from GHS an extraordinary gift: a free full car repair from GHS Auto Tech students.

3. GISD Bridges Graduate Advocates for Change (June)

Upon meeting former Georgetown ISD (GISD) student and Bridges graduate Abby Gober, you will find that she has an unwavering passion for learning about and working with automobiles and transportation. Read about how she is using that passion to be advocate in her community.

4. GISD Students Receive Awards at Central Texas Art Competition (December)

The 43rd Annual Central Texas Art Competition & Exhibition, coordinated by the Temple College Visual Arts Department, spotlighted high school and college student artists in the Central Texas area.

5. GISD CTE Director Bretton Schulz Presented with Chamber of Commerce Cornerstone Award (June)

On Thursday, June 2, The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce presented Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director Bretton Schulz with the Cornerstone Award for education.

6. GISD Education Foundation Presents Fall 2022 Grants (October)

Every Fall semester, GISD teachers present engaging project ideas to the Georgetown ISD Education Foundation for a chance at winning up to $500 each in grants.

7. East View Government Teacher Attends Teacher Institute in D.C. (August)

Every summer, the White House Historical Association (WHHA) hosts the White House History Teacher Institute, a five-day teacher professional development program in Washington, D.C where teachers from all over the country have discussions with historians, visit local sites, gain exclusive access to White House resources and more. 

8. Staff Spotlight: Instructional Coaches Day (October)

Instructional Coaches Day celebrates the professionals who support our teachers in achieving student success in our classrooms.

9. Teacher Externships: Building a Bridge Between Community and GISD (August)

For six years, Georgetown ISD (GISD) and the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce have partnered up to place GISD secondary teachers in externship programs with local businesses. The goal of the program is to provide teachers with opportunities to expand their knowledge in different fields in order to enrich the classroom experience for students and support their own personal growth.

10. GISD Board Goals in Action: Literacy and Numeracy (July)
