Georgetown ISD Announces Heather Stoner as Executive Director for Campus and Student Services

Georgetown ISD named Heather Stoner as executive director for campus and student services Tuesday during a special called meeting of the GISD Board of Trustees. Stoner has been serving in GISD as the director for campus operations and Title IX since 2020 and will assume her new role immediately.

“Heather is a natural fit for this position,” said Superintendent Fred Brent. “Her experience as an elementary and high school principal was of significant value when leading campuses during the pandemic, and I’m certain it will serve us well as she continues in this new role.”

Prior to coming to Georgetown ISD, Stoner served in the Lago Vista ISD as both an elementary and high school principal, as well as an assistant principal, teacher, and coach. Stoner enters this new role with 24 years of experience in public education.

She holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from St. Edward’s University. Stoner also holds a master’s degree and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy from Texas State University and the University of Texas at Austin, respectively.

Heather is married to husband Jason and together they have three children: daughter Peyton and sons Brody and Hudson.

In her new role, Stoner will be responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and supervising district operations, including: counseling services, health services, campus and district operations, Title IX, and student attendance. Stoner will also be responsible for establishing and supporting a culture aligned to the GISD Strategic Framework.
