Georgetown ISD Announces New Director of Custodial Services
The Georgetown Independent School District announced Alexis Gutierrez as the new Director of Custodial Services at an August board meeting.
Gutierrez comes to Georgetown ISD with 15 years of experience leading custodial operations and 11 years of experience in public education. He has been serving as the District Facility Manager in Del Valle ISD since 2019 where he oversees custodial operations of facilities and manages the set-up of facilities for district events. While serving in Del Valle ISD, Gutierrez successfully implemented a green cleaning program for the district.
Prior to his time in Del Valle, Gutierrez served as custodial operations supervisor in Burnet CISD and Leander ISD, where he helped bring the custodial staffing retention rate from 51% to 84%. He also served as a custodial specialist in Oak Park ISD. Gutierrez attended Illinois Valley Community College for two years before starting his career.
In his new role, Gutierrez will be responsible for the direction and management of all district custodial operations, including crossing guard operations. He will ensure district facilities are functional, safe, clean and well maintained while establishing, supporting and modeling a culture aligned to the GISD Strategic Framework, among other duties.
Gutierrez grew up a native to Chicago, Illinois and now lives in Liberty Hill with his two children, Daniella, 8 and Magglio, 14. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling to watch them play baseball, basketball and dance in competition.
He will assume his new role in late August.
