Georgetown ISD Announces New Director of Finance
The Georgetown Independent School District announced Renita Wright as the new Director of Finance at an August board meeting.
Wright comes to Georgetown ISD with 20 years of experience in financial leadership roles, nine of which have been spent in public education. She has been serving as accounts payable supervisor for Round Rock ISD since 2019, directing and managing the operational, personnel and financial activities in her department, overseeing the maintenance of financial records and preparing analytical reports for in-depth review of payment accuracy and departmental productivity metrics.
Wright served in various roles prior to her time in Round Rock ISD, including a payroll analyst & specialist for Killeen ISD, an operations supervisor for the Neiman Marcus Group, and a military enrollment advisor. Wright holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
In her new role, Wright will be responsible for assisting in the management of multiple financial operations of the district to ensure financial compliance with all regulatory agencies, directing the operations of budget treasury, accounts payable, and accounts receivable and payroll, among other duties.
Wright lives in Georgetown with her husband, an Army veteran who served 24 years in the military. Together, they have two children and the youngest lives in Sicily, Italy. Renita enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with family.
She will assume her new role on August 26.
