Georgetown ISD Announces New Principal for Williams Elementary

The Georgetown Independent School District announced Dr. Jennifer Hinson as the new principal to lead Everette L. Williams Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year.

Hinson has been serving as principal in Prosper ISD since 2019, where she collaborated with teachers and staff to create effective unit plans to meet state standards, mentored aspiring leaders in education and established policies and procedures for her campus.

Prior to her time in Prosper ISD, Hinson served as a school improvement specialist and principal for Chesterfield County Public Schools in Virginia and a program specialist for Dothan City Schools in Alabama. Hinson first entered public education as a teacher in 2002 and served in that role for 11 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Chaminade University, a master’s in Education Leadership and Human Development from George Washington University, and a doctorate in Education Administration.

As principal, Hinson will lead campus transformation into a learning organization aligned to GISD beliefs, ensure actions and behaviors support the mission of GISD, and advance the campus toward the vision of being home of the most inspired students, served by the most empowered leaders. Hinson will align systems and processes to support the implementation of the core work of designing engaging work and leading students to success in that work and in the growth of the attributes of the Learner Profile. Dr. Hinson values building relationships and looks forward to working with the Williams teachers, staff, parents, and students to learn, grow, and serve!

Jennifer will be relocating to central Texas from Frisco, where she will live with her husband, Matt Hinson.  Her son, Cody, lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Corina serving as a Brentwood Police Officer.  Caleb, who recently graduated from Prosper High School, will attend Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville pursuing a degree in Computer Science while running cross country and track.

Hinson will officially assume her new role this summer.
