GISD Art Students Receive Awards at Central Texas Art Competition

The 44th Annual Central Texas Art Competition & Exhibition, coordinated by the Temple College Visual Arts Department, spotlighted the work of high school and college student artists in the Central Texas area. Of the 35 high schools invited to the exhibition, GISD had five students that received accolades for their pieces.

Awards were given to the following students:

Best of Show Award (and a cash prize of $200):
Cora Howard (GHS) for her evocative watercolor piece titled "Into The Night."

Awards of Distinction (and a cash prize of $125):
Jayden Pettigrew (GHS)

Emily George (GHS)

Luna Mathis (GHS)

Honorable Mention Award (and a cash prize of $50):
Logan Lindros (GHS)
