October is Fentanyl Awareness Month

October is Fentanyl Awareness Month in Texas, and we want to encourage our parents and community to join us in talking to students about the dangers. You’ll see posters around our campuses and awareness information on our various social media accounts.

Fentanyl awareness is part of our overall education programming to raise awareness about substance abuse and its dangers and delivered in partnership with nonprofit organizations to students in grades 6-12. Additionally, priority work of our district’s School Health Advisory Committee includes identifying research-based educational programming for students and families to supplement the work already being done through health and physical education programs.
