Georgetown ISD Announces Distinguished High School Partnership with Tarleton State
Georgetown ISD has entered a partnership with Tarleton State University through the university’s Distinguished High School Partners Program that will guarantee admission to all GISD students who graduate within the top 50 percent of their class.
"The distinguished school partnership between GISD and Tarleton State allows us to collaboratively open a pathway to future growth for the students of GISD," Terri Conrad, GISD Chief Strategist for Learning & Design said. "It is a testament to our commitment to provide our students with exceptional opportunities to further their academic pursuits and achieve their goals."
Through this partnership, GISD students who graduate in the top 50 percent of their class will have admission fees waived, as well as the requirement to submit ACT or SAT scores.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between GISD and Tarleton also states that GISD students who qualify for Tarleton’s Guaranteed Scholarship Program (GSP) and attend Tarleton will receive an award guarantee of $1,000 above the GSP level for which they are eligible if the student ranks in the top 10 percent of their graduating class, or $500 above the GSP level for which they qualify if they are ranked in the top 50 percent of their graduating class.
You can find more about GSP award levels on Tarleton’s website.
