GISD partners with Workforce Solutions to host 1,000 Seventh Graders at Job Fair

On January 11, all seventh graders in GISD were invited to attend a job fair at the Sheraton in Georgetown. The fair, a collaboration between GISD and Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area, connected 1,000 seventh graders with representatives from the fields of agriculture, education, technology and more.

“The job fair was a unique opportunity to reach our seventh graders and show them various career paths that are available once they get to high school,” Bretton Schulz, GISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director said. “Allowing them to engage with professionals and see things first hand ignites curiosity and encourages them to dream big.”
