GISD Approves New Zoning Boundaries for 2024-25 School Year

The board approved new attendance zones during Tuesday’s meeting for the new San Gabriel Elementary School, as well as zone adjustments for the district’s elementary and middle schools, effective with the 2024-25 school year. These zoning adjustments help the district maintain quality education experiences for students while minimizing future rezoning impacts on families until the district can construct new facilities to accommodate for continued growth.

Summary of the changes:

  • Elementary proposal No. 9 approved.

    • New attendance zone created for San Gabriel Elementary School

    • Adjustments help alleviate overcrowding until a new elementary campus can be built.

    • Zone adjustments to all elementary campuses, except McCoy

  • Middle school proposal No. 5 approved.

    • Zone adjustments to all middle school campuses.

  • High school zones remain unchanged at this time.
